Full – Time Occupational Therapist

As a member of a trans-disciplinary team, you will provide assessment, intervention, and consultation services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, their families and program staff.  Travel within the city of Calgary and surrounding area is expected. Intensive training will be provided regarding the nature and philosophy of programming provided by the agency. We offer flexible hours, a competitive benefits package, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Applicants with previous experience working with children with ASD are preferred.

Qualifications: Occupational Therapy degree from a recognized University, eligible for licensure with ACOT; a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle; and a sound knowledge of child development.

Full–Time Facilitator Position Term Certain

 

The Pursuits and Recruits Program requires an enthusiastic and motivated Full-Time Facilitator to join our team at the Ability Hub!  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of multiple participants.  They will establish goals, create overviews, and support participants within onsite vocational settings (i.e., life skills courses/workshops), through job coaching at community work placements and employment. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, exceptional time management skills, be adept at dealing with maladaptive behaviours, be able to work within a multidisciplinary team, and be familiar with behaviour modification, activity based teaching, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Travel will be required.  Work hours include evenings.

Qualifications:

B.A. in Psychology or related discipline or Post Secondary Diploma, a minimum of two years experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Experience with adolescents and adults is preferred.

Full–Time Early Intervention Therapist (EIT)

 

The CBO Early Intervention Program requires an enthusiastic and motivated Full-Time Early Intervention Therapist to join our team! The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct therapy to preschool aged children at the STA classroom, in the client’s home and on community outings.  The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, exceptional time management skills, be able to work within a multidisciplinary team and be familiar with Society for Treatment of Autism’s treatment approach and philosophy.  Travel is required.

Qualifications:  Diploma and/or B.A. in Psychology or related discipline. Experience working with children an asset.

Pathology from a recognized University; a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle; and a sound knowledge of child development. The successful applicant must be registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Independent Contract Drivers

Looking for part-time work? Society for Treatment of Autism is looking for fun and positive people to provide transportation to young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in our Early Intervention Program.

Each driver will receive:

- Training for transporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

- Appropriate car seat for each child being transported

- Pay will be based on total number of transport trips per week

Qualifications:

Part-Time Permanent Morning Wake-Up Staff

Hours of work:

Monday-Friday 6:30 am-9:30 am

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Residential Program Supervisor, the Morning Wake Up staff will implement individualized approved treatment programs in the areas of behaviour management, communication, safety/pre-vocational skills, and daily living skills to individuals with Autism living at the Husky Energy Centre for Autism.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have strong skills in the areas of verbal and written communication, motivation, and teamwork.

Enrollment in a Human Services Diploma or Degree from a recognized college or university is preferred. Experience working with children and/or children with disabilities and a current First Aid/CPR certificate are considered to be an asset.

Full-Time Permanent Behavior Therapist

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Residential Program Supervisor, the Behaviour Therapist will implement individualized approved treatment programs in the areas of behaviour management, communication, safety/pre-vocational skills, and daily living skills to individuals with Autism living at the Husky Energy Centre for Autism. Also, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining paperwork for assigned client(s).

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have strong skills in the areas of verbal and written communication, motivation, and teamwork.
Completion of a Human Services Diploma or Degree from a recognized college or university is preferred. Experience working with children and/or children with disabilities and a current First Aid/CPR certificate are considered to be an asset.
